Background:
Golgi transmembrane glycoprotein 73 (GP73) is an ideal serum marker for early diagnosis and evaluation of postoperative recurrence of liver cancer. Its sensitivity and specificity are much higher than those of alpha fetoprotein (AFP), which came out 40 years ago. If they are detected jointly, the diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer will be greatly improved.
