General Information
Background:
Osteocalcin is a protein composed of 49 amino acids. It is mainly synthesized by osteoblasts and odontoblasts, as well as some by proliferating chondrocytes. It plays an important role in regulating bone calcium metabolism and is a new biochemical marker for studying bone metabolism. It has important value in the diagnosis of diseases such as osteoporosis syndrome and calcium metabolism abnormalities.
