General Information
Background:
Tsutsugamushi disease, also known as scrub typhus, is an acute infectious disease caused by Orientia tsugamushi (Rickettsia tsugamushi). It is a natural focus disease, with rodents as the main source of infection and chigger mite larvae as the transmission vector. Most patients have a history of field work, with an incubation period of 5-20 days. The clinical manifestations are diverse and complex, with many complications, often leading to multiple organ damage.
