Salmonella is a Gram negative bacterium that inhabits the intestines of human animals with similar biochemical reactions and antigen structures. It is a type of intestinal pathogenic bacteria, often caused by ingestion of unclean food, causing severe diarrhea in infected individuals. It is one of the main pathogens of human food poisoning.
