General Information
Background:
Ziprasidone is an atypical antipsychotic drug with a structure different from that of phenothiazine or butylphthalene antipsychotic drugs. In vitro studies show that ziprasidone has high affinity for dopamine D2, D3, 5-hydroxytryptamine 5HT2A, 5HT2C, 5HT1A, 5HT1D, a - adrenergic receptor, medium affinity for histamine H1 receptor, and no affinity for other tested receptors/binding sites, including M cholinergic receptor.
