Background:
Ranitidine is a potent histamine H2 receptor antagonist. The effect is 5-8 times stronger than cimetidine and the duration of action is longer. It can effectively inhibit gastric acid secretion caused by stimulation of histamine, pentapeptide Gastrin and carbamoylcholine, reduce gastric acid and gastric enzyme activity, and is mainly used for the treatment of hyperacidity and heartburn.
