Background:
Expression of ABHD17 in neurons can selectively reduce palmitoylation of PSD-95 and synaptic aggregation of PSD-95 and AMPAR. Meanwhile, overexpression of ABHD17 also decreased the palmitoylation levels of small GTPases NRas and HRas and PSD-95 in HEK293T cells. However, the mechanism that regulates the activity of ABHD17 is still unclear.
