General Information
Background:
Equine infectious anaemia (EIA) is an infectious disease of horses, mules, and donkeys caused by equine infectious anaemia virus (EQUine infectious anaemia virus) of the lentivirus subfamily of the Recordiviridae family. It is characterized by intermittent fever, emaciation, progressive weakness, anemia, bleeding and edema. During the period without fever, the symptoms gradually relieved or disappeared temporarily.
