Abvigen has developed a full range of polylactide (PLA) micro- and nanoparticles of multiple sizes.
Polylactic acid, also known as poly(lactic acid) or polylactide (PLA), is one of the most promising biopolymers that can be produced from non-toxic renewable raw materials and has properties similar to polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) or polystyrene (PS).
Poly(d,l-lactic acid) (PLA) has been widely used for various biomedical applications for its biodegradable, biocompatible, and nontoxic properties. Various methods, such as emulsion, salting out, and precipitation, have been used to make better PLA micro- and nano-particle formulations. They are widely used as controlled drug delivery systems of therapeutic molecules, including proteins, genes, vaccines, and anticancer drugs.
