General Information
Background:
Borrelia, a genus of generalized bacteria. Active and easy to stain, Gram negative. There are two types of infections that can cause human infection, namely, Helicobacter pallidum transmitted by lice and Treponema dutoniana transmitted by ticks. After infection, it is often characterized by recurrent fever and relief, hence clinically referred to as recurrent fever.
