Background:
MPV is of the highest medical concern because it causes a human disease similar to smallpox in its clinical manifestations and mortality rate.
Monkeypox virus (MPV) belongs to the genus pox virus (Orthopoxvirus genus) and is an enveloped double-stranded DNA virus. MPV can effectively infect human primary monocytes, through excessive inhibition of CD4 + and CD8 + T cell activation, eliminated local T cell responses, and avoiding systemic immunosuppression and immune surveillance. Sequence alignment showed significant differences in both the virulence encoded by MPV and VAR genome ends.and host range factor regions.
